The Arizona Taco Festival
The Arizona Taco Festival is both an intense taco competition and an incredible foodie event. Over 50 teams compete for cash prizes and bragging rights.
Each year, restaurants, caterers and amateurs sold more than 100,000 tacos at this annual classic in Scottsdale.
Tacos & Tequila
The Arizona Taco Festival brings together all the best of food and fun in one spectacular event. For years, this beloved celebration of tacos has been serving up $2 chicken, pork, beef, seafood, veggie and dessert tacos. Or course you can't have tacos without chips and salsa or guacamole!
Restaurants, caterers and amateur chefs alike are eager to provide their best tacos while guests savor them with margaritas or Mexican beer in hand.
At the Arizona Taco Festival, guests can savor creative tacos from restaurants, taquerias and food trucks while sampling fresh fruit fresca, tequila cocktails and Mexican beer.
Tickets for the festival come in two varieties: General Admission includes tacos and a drink ticket; you can upgrade to a VIP ticket, which includes five food and four drink tickets plus access to "Margarita Wars" tent and reserved taco area. Another option is the Ultimate VIP ticket, which includes early entry, a T-shirt, two margaritas and restaurant access.
The Arizona Taco Festival is known for bringing together some of Phoenix's finest restaurants to compete against each other. Docktails and Nando's were two standouts, serving up spicy chicken tacos paired with pineapple pieces.
This year, attendees enjoyed some shade from trees and plenty of party tents to dance under. Furthermore, local businesses offered shaded seating as well as booths for purchase.
Eating Contests
In addition to an exciting selection of tacos and drinks, attendees have the chance to participate in various contests. Popular events include Hot Chili Pepper Eating Contest and Arm Wrestling for Tacos.
These events offer a fun-filled family experience without breaking the bank. All activities are included with general admission tickets, which let visitors enter and sample all of the delicious tacos served at this festival.
This event utilizes a token system, so guests purchase tokens and exchange them for tacos and margaritas throughout the weekend. Tickets can be purchased either online or at the gate and are non-transferrable.
